Update

So I have some bad news (at least I think it is bad news). I have now received two "thanks but no thanks" letters from two colleges that I applied for a teaching position. I have applied to one other community college for a teaching position but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I had my interview at the University of Arizona for the Music Education PhD program. It went really well but they only admit 3-4 people each year so I'm not getting my hopes super high for that either.

At this point, I kind of have no idea what to do. I've applied with some publishing companies and some back up applications for administrative assistent positions at various universities. Please keep me in your prayers as I try to figure out what my next move after graduate school is.

THESIS UPDATE...I meet with my committee on Tuesday and will revise it once more before turning it into the graduate college for approval (hopefully)

Hope you all are having a great Sunday!

Down South...

One of my students' moms was telling me that her husband was out of town (he's a pilot in the military). And she was trying to think of where exactly he went.

Mom: He went to South America somewhere, but I can't remember where...

Student: Georgia!!

Ha! I thought it was cute!

Thesis Update

I'm FINISHED!!!! I finished writing my thesis on March 6 and I couldn't be more thrilled. It's 94 pages and I am very proud! I turned it in to my committee of three professors who will now read it and then meet with me to ask questions and suggest revisions. Then I will revise it based on that meeting and turn it into the graduate college at Texas State who will read it and either accept it or give it back for revisions. That process will repeat until they accept it. Hopefully they will accept it in the first couple of submissions. The thesis is out of my hands for at least two weeks and I'm thrilled about that!

Conferences, Conferences, and More Conferences!

Last weekend, I traveled to my third music conference in February! I presented at two of them. I was tired and stressed out by the time they were over. This last one was for the College Music Society and it was held at LSU in Baton Rouge, LA. It was a good conference but VERY long! Here are a couple pics from my poster session.

This is my conference roomie Ju-Sun. She's a music theory graduate student also graduating this Spring.
